Minutes of Commission meeting held on July 28, 2008.

Present: Patricia Caron, Sarto Caron and Brian Johnson.
Minutes of March 31, 2008 and April 28, 2008 were read accepted and have been distributed.
No meeting was held on May 27, 2008 because of the Annual Town Meeting.
No meeting was held on June 30, 2008 because of the continuation of the Annual Town Meeting.
6-18-08
We received a $50.00 check from Varnum Funeral Home for the burial of the cremated remains of Milton J. Weglarz in Section V, Lot 12, Plot C.
7 -16-08
We received via the Virtual Town Hall an e-mail request from Stanley I. Kusiak requesting on behalf of his friend Dick Murphy of Maravia, NY whose parents Earl and Marion Murphy along with Brother David Murphy are buried in the Holland Cemetery. He inquired if there were more spots available in the family plot and questioned our policy on cremation burials.
To date, no deed has been located. In the cemetery plot book those family names were found in Section III, Lot 71B where they own five plots. Three (3) have been used. The internment book will be reviewed to locate the deceased and to determine whether they were cremated or not. Mr. Kusiak will be notified by e-mail of our findings and questioned if Mr. Murphy has any siblings still living and would desire to be buried in Holland.
7-19-08
Fred Veber died on July 15, 2008 and was buried on July 19, 2008 in Section VII, Lot 8, Plot 17. We received a $350.00 check from Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home.
The cremated remains of Walter W. Goodspeed were buried in Section IX, Plot 183. He died on June 30, 2008. We received a $50.00 check from Belanger & Bullard Funeral Home.
7-28-08
Normand Corriveau and Gail (Corriveau) Hickland went to the cemetery with Brian Johnson to select plots. They purchased for $380.00, 3 plots in Section VIII – 71-72-73, perpetual care and (4) bound markers.
Richard Morey gave Brian Johnson detailed plot plans that were drawn up on September 13, 1990, of the oldest section in the cemetery, which we view to be a “Gold Mine” find.
Brian proposed painting the storage building. All were in agreement. A Boy Scout leader will be contacted to see if this might be a “community project” for them.
Vendor Voucher paying John Deere for a lawn mower blade for $50.28 was submitted to the Town Treasurer.
Commission adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
